Sony has announced that ICO HD will become playable on the PlayStation Vita via the handheld’s Remote Play feature.
Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida recently tweeted a screenshot of the HD version of ICO running on the PlayStation Vita; his tweet teased fans by saying “!?” He then apologized for the teasing and confirmed that the PlayStation 2 classic will be playable on the platform.
“Sorry to tease you, I was play testing ICO HD Remote Play on PS Vita. We are almost ready with a patch. Beautiful on OLED,” Yoshida said.
In regards to Yoshida playing the game on the Vita – as depicted in the screenshot – the game will apparently run at a resolution of 852×480. PlayStation Vita’s native resolution stands at 960 x 544.
The confirmation, of course, paves the way for its spiritual predecessor, Shadow of the Colossus, to be playable on the PlayStation Vita.
