Well, maybe! It certainly looked like it to @Wario64, who posted this screen capture (you could call it a knight cap) to his Twitter feed. It would appear that Shovel Knight was listed for a short time as one of the amiibo supported in Super Smash Brothers before Nintendo hastily pulled it. Many fans have guessed that Shovel Knight will be the next challenger thanks to the vote that has been taken to decide who will be integrated into Nintendo’s flagship brawler.
Yacht Club Games responded on Twitter by saying that while it appreciates the enthusiasm, it believes the listing was made in error. That’s no doubt true, but they made no mention of the information itself being erroneous. Of course, forums have since been flooded with speculation as to when we’ll get some kind of announcement and date for Shovel Knight DLC for SSB and for the corresponding Shovel Knight amiibo, which is sure to be a big hit.
The listing said “Available Holiday 2015,” so keep your fingers crossed for an announcement within the next month.
