Is The Witcher 3’s Gwent Going Standalone?

Here’s an E3 rumor that’ll warm the heart of any The Witcher fan. Gwent, the in-game card game, is a highlight. It’s a wonderful card game, with a physical editions available with the Hearts of Stone expansion’s limited edition. Now, a European Union Intellectual Property Office has a trademark, complete with logo, filed for the game.

The trademark doesn’t provide too much information. It does say that CD Projekt Red called dibs on it. The logo does confirm this Gwent does refer to the card game found in The Witcher. The text confirms that the trademark applies to video games, with downloadable PC game software specifically mentioned, as well as board and card games and online services.

CD Projekt Red has already said it’ll be at E3 2016. It’s bringing Cyberpunk 2077 , and now it’s looking likely that Gwent will be there too. I’m hoping it’s a digital game, maybe even mobile. Would you prefer a digital or physical game?
