Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Delayed Until January

Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Delayed Until January

Sorry Kingdom Hearts fans: you’re going to have to wait a little longer to play Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue. “What the hell is that?” just asked anyone not intimately familiar with the Kingdom Hearts series. No other video game series in history has had more confusing naming conventions than Kingdom Hearts . I feel like Square Enix has intentionally gone out of its way to make these game names as arbitrarily long-winded as possible. Anyway, Kingdom Hearts 2.8 is a remake of the 2012 3DS game Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (WTF?). The remake will contain new sequences that delve deeper into the story of popular Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep protagonist Aqua (no, a remade Birth By Sleep is not included in the package).

Originally the game was set to come out this December, but Square Enix has decided to push it back a bit in order to focus more of its resources on a different game – I’ll let you guess which one. Series creator Tetsuya Nomura stated in a Tweet (translated by Destructoid ) that the delay will allow his team to help with the release of Final Fantasy XV . The good news (for some of you) is that Kingdom Hearts 2.8 will sport some fancy PS4 Pro enhancements on day one, including higher resolution textures and more stable frame rates. You can get your hands on Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue when it hits NA shores on January 24.
