LittleBigPlanet 2 Gets Cross-Controller Pack DLC In December

Nintendo has always been the big innovator in the gaming industry. Typically, Nintendo will introduce a product, and the other developers will attempt to improve on it in some way. Nintendo introduced the analog stick on the N64, and Sony created the DualShock. Nintendo implemented motion controls on the Wii and Sony introduced the Move while Microsoft makes the Kinect. Nintendo uses a touch screen interface for the Wii U and Microsoft makes the Smart Glass. However, Sony is going in a slightly different direction by implementing cross-console compatibility with the PS Vita (arguably an impersonation of another thing Nintendo did first when it allowed the GameCube to connect to the GameBoy Advance).

We have seen some cross-console compatibility in games like Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3, which allows you to use the Vita as a touch screen controller shortcut for special and super moves. However, the Vita can do much more, and Little Big Planet 2 is set to show it off. It will be getting a brand new cross-controller DLC pack which will include levels that must be played using the PS Vita as a controller. You will need to use the Vita’s camera, motion controls, touch screen, and rear touch pannel to make it through the game. Essentially, it can do everything that the Wii U gamepad can do, but more.

The only issue with this brand new cross-console capability is that users will need to own a Vita to take advantage of it.

The new Little Big Planet 2 cross-controller pack will be available in Europe on December 19 th and will retail for €4.99. An official American price and release date has not yet been given.
