Lord Of The Rings Online Unveils New Raid Boss

None

Turbine lifted the veil on the Lord of the Rings Online’s newest raid boss today. Draigoch is a dragon that is supposedly one of the most powerful creatures in Middle-earth. According to the rumors, this thing is absolutely massive. But you won’t be fighting him alone; he comes at the end of a 24-man raid that will ship with the Rise of Isengard expansion due out this September.

This comes as a delight to fans, who have been clamoring for another 24-man raid for years. Previously, the only full raid that required this many players was Helegrod, and that was chopped down into bite-sized pieces last year when LotRO became free to play. Sure, there were two tiny little raids in Angmar, but many players over-leveled their characters and farmed these raids with only 12 people anyway. Rise of Isengard should finally deliver another proper 24-man experience.

Of course, the new raid (along with its ridiculously powerful boss) isn’t the only reason to be excited for Rise of Isengard. The expansion includes three new areas to explore, a level cap raised to 75, and cameos from Saruman and Quickbeam the hasty Ent.

Rise of Isengard is on schedule for a September 27 release. For more details, check out our full preview by clicking here.
