Mario Party Superstars DLC: Uncover the Full Party Potential

Mario Party Superstars DLC: Uncover the Full Party Potential

Mario Party Superstars is the household digital board game of dreams. For those who have never played a single Mario Party game, the game is simple. Choose a board to play like a classic board game. Roll the digital dice to see how many spaces you can move. Collect stars, coins, and power-ups along the way. The player with the most stars and coins wins the game. Every board will have different ways to collect these items and different mini-games to play.

This entry covers almost every Mario Party game, map, and mini-game, the latest entry in the series comes to build lasting friendships and brutal feuds among friends and families. Mario Party Superstars was released in late 2021 for the Nintendo Switch by both Nintendo and NDCube.

Mario Party Superstars DLC or Lack Thereof

At the time of writing in 2023, Mario Party Superstars does not have any current DLC. The original reboot of the series for the Switch came in 2018 and never received any DLC. As we round the 2nd year of Mario Party Superstar’s release, it’s unlikely we will see any new content for this game. However, all other recent Mario series games have received some kind of DLC at some point so maybe there is still hope for the series.

Mario Party Superstars DLC Wishlist

While there is no set date or public plans to make any DLC for Mario Party Superstars, the game’s mission statement at launch was bringing back a lot of the old classic boards and games. Nintendo attempted this with the 3DS game Mario Party: Top 100 to a worldwide commercial flop. Superstars seems to have escaped this fate but we as gamers are still hungry for more old-school Mario Party Content. Here is a small wishlist of boards and mini-games that would make a great comeback.

Mario Party 8: Goomba’s Booty Boardwalk (Map) – This linear race to the end of the line was something of a mystery in the original game. If you lost all of your money or simply didn’t have enough coins to buy a star at the end of the line then you would have to start again with no hope.

Mario Party 7: Neon Heights (Map) – Originally released on the GameCube this map modeled the hustle and bustle of a big urban city. (Think New York, Toyko, Berlin, etc.) The star constantly moved and so did your strategy as you needed to play all kinds of mini-mini-games at certain spaces.

Mario Party 8: Punch-a-Bunch (Mini-game) – This mini-game utilized the Wii’s motion control and timing. With the Switches motion capture controllers, this would be a great game to throw players a refreshing game that will change up the standard sit-on-the-couch gameplay style.

Mario Party 7: Spin Doctor (Mini-game) – This Duel mini-game for Mario Party 7 challenged players’ abilities in a lot of different ways. Route finding, timing, and keeping a cool head as you have to navigate a spinning maze of paths in a race to the finish.

With no DLC is Mario Party Superstars Still Worth It?

The collective media universe has a million games. A lot of these games are masterpieces but don’t have DLC. Mario Party Superstars wasn’t designed to be a masterpiece full of DLC. The Mario Party series was meant to be nothing more than a friendly digital board game. A game that you throw on when you have family in town or friends to entertain at your house. For the casual gamer, Mario Party Superstars is 100% worth buying as its replay value is more or less limitless. For a more serious gamer or someone who only wants games with DLC, consider Playstation games.

Mario Party Superstars Tips and Tricks

There isn’t exactly one single strategy that would ensure a win but there are some general tricks to help you.

Check the Map and Plan, Plan, Plan: This tip seems self-explanatory, but planning out what rolls you need, where to use items, and how to set traps for your opponents are going to be critical when planning out your playstyle and for the specific map you are using.

Practice Your Mini-Games: Mario Party Superstars has a mini-game-only mode with no maps. If you are struggling to win the mini-games, then you can set up the bots to be brutally hard and practice to your heart’s content.

Have Fun with the Game: This is a casual game with no real way to “beat” the game. It’s made to be played with friends all in good fun. Just having fun with the game is the best way to “beat” the game. After all, you can always start a new game if you lose the last round.
