Marth Confirmed for Super Smash Bros. U

Marth Confirmed for Super Smash Bros. U

Another character confirmation rolled out via the official Nintendo Super Smash Bros . page today. Marth, the original Fire Emblem protagonist, will be joining the fight. Marth has long been considered one of the more “high tier” Smash Bros . characters. In Melee , he is capable of some intense combos and has an absolutely deadly forward smash if you hit with just the tip of his sword. In Brawl, he is toned down but is still quite powerful. Unfortunately, he could not stand up to the beast that is Metaknight. Where will he fall on the tier list now?

According to the pictures posted on the official site, Marth hasn’t changed much. Most of his normal moves appear to operate exactly the same. He still has his dolphin slash, his sword dance, and even his counter, though his counter seems to create what appears to be a mini-shied in front of him now.

However, Marth really lives and dies by the properties of his moves. If he is able to short-hop combo again, he may be one of the most dominant forces in the game. If not, he may be passed over for faster characters.
