As detailed in a PR email received on Wednesday, June 11, a new Mega-Evolution has been revealed for the upcoming third generation remakes of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire , Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire .
Revealed in an all-new gameplay trailer during this year’s E3 in Los Angeles, by using the Mega Stone (an item that’s obtainable in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire ), Sableye materializes into a bulkier form, complete with a large gem bigger than its own size.
“ Sableye is a Dark- and Ghost-type Pokémon, ” the PR email reads . “ Mega Sableye has concentrated all of the energy from Mega Evolution into the jewel which adorns its chest. Once Sableye has Mega-Evolved, this jewel will swell and become detached from its body.
Mega Sableye uses the jewel as a powerful defensive tool in battle. From behind the shelter of the jewel, it can readily exploit the opponent’s weaknesses and take advantage of any openings. It is said that the jewel hardens into such strength that no attack can even make a scratch! ”
Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire will launch in the US on Friday, November 21 . A European release is slated for the following week on Friday, November 28.
