Microsoft Confirms Xbox Minecraft Release Date

Microsoft Confirms Xbox Minecraft Release Date

None

Though we knew that Minecraft was going to come to Xbox LIVE quite some time ago, Microsoft has only recently confirmed its actual release date.

The popular world-building indie game will be available to download on May 9th, 2012 and will cost 1600 Microsoft points ($20). This is about four dollars cheaper than the full version of Minecraft on the PC. Unfortunately, the Xbox 360 version will not have anywhere near as many features as the PC version. So the drop in price is understandable.

Xbox LIVE gamers have been playing indie games that are similar to Minecraft for some time. FortressCraft and Total Miner are two best-selling indie games on the Xbox LIVE marketplace. So you can be assured that Minecraft will explode when it finally gets into Xbox gamer’s hands.

We will bring you more information on the launch of Minecraft for the Xbox 360 as it becomes available.
