Might & Magic X Is Coming

Might & Magic X Is Coming

Just in time for PAX East, Ubisoft has unveiled the next chapter in the Might & Magic mythos. Rather than another Might & Magic Heroes game, or a new spin-off as the company was so fond of making in the 90s and early 2000s, this is an honest-to-goodness, first-person, Might & Magic title.

Might & Magic X: Legacy serves as a storyline sequel to Might & Magic Heroes VI, but the excitement here is focused on the gameplay. Limbic Studios is building it in the tradition of the classic series, with players controlling a party from a first-person perspective. This sub-genre of RPGs was recently revived with Legend of Grimrock, and it’s terrific to see one of the biggest names therein returning to the fray.

The teaser trailer doesn’t offer a specific date, but does indicate that the game can be expected in 2013, and a logo near the end indicates that this is likely to be a PC only release, surprising no one.
