Ubisoft Creates New Might & Magic Experience for Nintendo DS Players

Ubisoft Creates New Might & Magic Experience for Nintendo DS Players

None

Today, Ubisoft announced the development of a brand new RPG experience in the Might & Magic series.

Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes is set to launch worldwide in August 2009 and will feature puzzle-RPG gameplay. According to the presser, players will adventure “through five unique and epic quests,” alternating between “exploration and turn-based puzzle battles in the game to save the world of Ashan from demonic chaos.” Might & Magic Clash of Heroes also incorporates a new “manga-style art design.”

Interested players will be able to experience “a world populated by knights, elves, wizards, necromancers, and demons… manage their own hero, customize their army, and lead campaigns in the mythic Might & Magic world.”

Sounds interesting; hopefully the gameplay mechanic will shake things up rather than relying on Puzzle Quest-like mechanics of match-three and board-controlling combat abilities. Not that there is anything wrong with the formula, I just think we’re all ready for a change.

Press Release:

May 13, 2009 – SAN FRANCISCO -Today Ubisoft announced that it will launch a new title in the Might & Magic universe. Might & Magic Clash of Heroes, a puzzle RPG that was developed by Capybara Games, creators of award-winning handheld and mobile games, will be available on Nintendo DS and it will be released in August 2009.

Through five unique and epic quests, players will alternate exploration and turn-based puzzle battles in the game to save the world of Ashan from demonic chaos. Might & Magic Clash of Heroes also adopts a brand new manga-style art design that is perfectly suited to Nintendo DS. In a world populated by knights, elves, wizards, necromancers and demons, gamers can manage their own hero, customize their army and lead campaigns in the mythic Might & Magic world.

“Our fans have always appreciated the depth and richness of the Might & Magic universe,” said Romain de Waubert de Genlis, senior producer at Ubisoft. “The teams at Ubisoft and Capybara were inspired to extend that universe in a unique way onto the DS, creating an engaging new game experience.”

Created for Might & Magic fans, while also attracting new audiences, Might & Magic Clash of Heroes can be played in solo mode or shared with a friend in two-player peer-versus-peer mode.
