The popular sandbox-survival game Minecraft has been revealed to be currently going under tests for the PlayStation 3 platform. Minecraft has already been a commercial success on the Xbox 360, and now it appears that PS3 users will have their chance to get their hands on the game at some point in the future.
4J Studios–the developer that ported Minecraft to the Xbox 360– tweeted that the company is “ hard at work ” with testing the PS3 Edition of Minecraft , and it also confirmed that no dates have been set for its release on other platforms, referring to a reply asking about whether or not 4J would bring Minecraft to Xbox One or PS4.
Additionally, 4J also added that Minecraft will not be a PS4 launch title, but there’s apparently an Xbox One version in the works, so it’s a possibility that a PS4 version may be in the pipeline further down the road.
