Both the Dragon Ball Z and Naruto game series have been accused of oversaturating the market. These anime-inspired brawlers are a bit like the Madden of fighting games, releasing on a near-annual basis and offering little in the way of change. It looks like Namco Bandai isn’t trying to slow down on production of either for 2011. There will be a new game from each series this year.



Namco announced this morning that Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Tenkaichi and Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm would both be coming to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 later this year. Is there still a market for these games? It’s hard to believe, especially since the Dragon Ball Z anime ended more than a decade ago. But anime and manga fans are among some of the most dedicated in the universe, so these games may be just as popular now as they always have been.
