MotorStorm RC Vita Gets A Scion Boost

MotorStorm RC Vita Gets A Scion Boost

None

MotorStorm RC, released in Europe this past week and now coming to the U.S., will cost PlayStation 3 players a cool $10. PlayStation Plus subscribers will get a 25 percent discount over that, while PlayStation Vita players will get the game for free.

That’s right, in an unexpected twist, MotorStorm RC Vita will, for a limited time, be available free of charge to PlayStation Vita owners. The PlayStation Blog thanks “[Sony’s] partners at Scion” for the gracious act, and further reveals that the Vita version of the pint-sized racer will include an exclusive Scion iQ as a drivable, remote-controlled car.

The eminent question, then: just how much in-game advertisement will we have in our free game? It’s uncouth to look a gift horse in the mouth, yes, but I’m curious as to what kind of precedent this will set in the future, if the game will be so inundated as to be virtually unplayable or if, instead, this becomes a mutually-beneficial arrangement for fans, advertisers, and Sony.

Expect it to hit the PlayStation Store tomorrow, Tuesday, March 6 in the afternoon.
