Remember Xenosaga , the philosophical sci-fi JRPG that was the spiritual successor to Xenogears ? Well Bandai Namco says they are considering releasing an HD remake of all three Xenosaga games in one Xenosaga HD collection. Unfortunately, considering doesn’t mean “planning.” According to Katsuhiro Harada, the key to seeing a Xenosaga HD remake is fan support.
Harada even outlined what sort of fan support on Twitter! He said he wanted more than one person tweeting him about a Xenosaga HD remake every day. He needs to prove that a large number of people will be interested in a Xenosaga release. Harada says most companies wouldn’t believe that fans would buy an old game remade unless it was an absolute breakout hit.
Harada said that he tried to look into a Xenosaga remake in the past, but “could not find the market size that would pay for the development fee needed to make an HD remaster.”
