Netflix Streaming to Remain an Xbox 360 Exclusive

Netflix Streaming to Remain an Xbox 360 Exclusive

None

According to the updated Xbox 360 dashboard presser over on Xbox.com, Microsoft has apparently locked down their partnership with Netflix.

After listing all the new features available through the dashboard update, a block of text is clearly displayed proclaiming that the Xbox 360 will be the only console to feature Netflix’s streaming service.

This obviously puts the kibosh on rumors that Netflix would be hopping over to the PS3 or Wii. However, we’re not sure if this exclusivity extends to handheld devices, as recently Apple’s iPhone / iPod Touch were linked to the service.

Below you’ll find the relevant portion of text featured at the very bottom of the presser. Click HERE if you’d like to read the media release in its entirety.

This exclusive partnership offers you the ability to instantly stream movies and TV episodes from Netflix to the television via Xbox 360. Xbox 360 will be the only game console to offer this movie-watching experience, available to Xbox LIVE Gold members who are also Netflix unlimited plan subscribers**, at no additional cost.
