As a possible sign of digital distribution’s popularity, Netflix has launched a streaming only program in the US. Netflix, a company that distributes movies via mail and is currently available on all major consoles, has previously offered a streaming service only in addition to a DVD-based program.
The streaming only program is available for $7.99. The prices for the DVD-by-mail program will also be increasing by a dollar per month.  This launch nearly coincides with the recent launch of the Hulu program on PlayStation 3. Hulu, which has plans to launch on other consoles in the near future, also has a price point of $7.99. |
