Netflix’s Witcher Pilot Has a Script

Netflix’s Witcher Pilot Has a Script

A show based on the hit Witcher series has been in the works at Netflix for a while, but over the weekend the production hit a major milestone. Via Twitter, writer Lauren S. Hissrich has confirmed her draft of the show’s pilot is done.

Like I said, this is a draft, so the script it “out for notes,” as Hissrich said in her Tweet. It’s always super exciting when a writer posts the title page of their script or novel while still being molded by the creative process, though.

Announced back in May 2017, Netflix’s The Witcher doesn’t have a release date, cast or anything yet, although we know Hissrich is also showrunner and executive producer, and Poland’s Platige Films is involved as well. We also know the show is based on the original novels by Polish writer Andrezej Sapkowski, rather than the video games from CD Projekt Red. Hissrich has previously written for The Defenders, Daredevil, and The West Wing .
