New Characters Revealed For Street Fighter X Tekken

None

Comic-Con has been providing tons of news for fighting game fans everywhere. Yesterday, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 was revealed, and today we got a brand new Street Fighter X Tekken trailer and an announcement that four new characters will be joining the roster.

On the Tekken side, we have Steve Fox and Yoshimitsu. Steve Fox is Tekken’s resident boxer character, set to go up against Street Fighter greats like Dudley and Balrog. His trailer shows that he has quite a bit of speed behind his punches and lots of range on each of his normals. He should be fun to play for boxer fans everywhere. Yoshimitsu, on the other hand, is the robot-ninja-samurai thing that makes a habit of jumping on a laser sword like a pogo stick and committing seppuku in order to kill his enemies.

On the Street Fighter side, we get Dhalsim, the yoga master with stretchy limbs and fire breath. And as a very strange addition, Poison will be in the mix as well. Poison, for those of you who don’t remember, was Hugo’s hype girl from Street Fighter III and Final Fight. She appears to use a combination of area control projectiles and quick moves. That seems cool and all, but one thing confuses me. If I remember my gaming history right, wasn’t Poison a dude in disguise? Sure, I mean this was really just an excuse for American developers to avoid showing a girl getting beat up in a video game, but that’s something that I can’t easily forget.
