Nintendo has recently announced that a brand new Mario title will be coming to the 3DS. The title is called New Super Mario Bros. 2 and it is due out sometime this August. New Super Mario Bros. 2 is a classic 2D side-scrolling Mario game, much like the original New Super Mario Bros. The game seems to take many of its cues form Super Mario Bros. 3, as the first teaser image of the game shows one of the iconic colorful SMB3 blocks as a stage element. In addition, the image shows Mario in the classic raccoon suit flying over a Goomba. After the Tanooki suit came back in Super Mario 3D land, it appears as if Nintendo has become committed to bringing back classic power-ups from Mario’s past. Hopefully he can put on the frog or hammer suit again as well.
