While it has been confirmed years ahead by Activision that the Call of Duty series will have an annual offering, CVG has confirmed the content of the next title. According to “a senior UK trade source” November 2010 will see the series head to Vietnam under the direction of Treyarch. The 10,000 day conflict, as brought to CoD gamers, takes inspiration from such Vietnam film masterpieces as Apocalypse Now and Platoon. Though Activision has declined to comment, the following quotes, featured in the CVG report, seem authoritative. “It’s going to be November again – just as with World At War and Modern Warfare 2,” they told CVG. “Activision believes that it can own Christmas 2010, just as it has in the last two years. “Development is on course – and Treyarch have been told the game must be ready to hit shelves before the gifting season.”
