Every year, EA likes to do something fun with the NHL series. It uses the hockey game to try and determine which team might win the Stanley Cup. Now, it isn’t the most accurate means of determining a winner, since it was wrong in 2014 and 2015, but maybe 2016 will be its year! If so, then NHL 16 says the Washington Capitals will take it all.
In EA’s NHL 16, the 82 game season resulted in the Washington Capitals facing the San Jose Sharks. The Capitals won in game 7, getting the virtual Stanley Cup. EA also compiled other “stories” from the fake season in a post , cleverly detailing everything as though it really happened.
Of course, the NHL 16 simulation can’t take into account various things that may happen during a real season, like injuries. It’s more about having fun. If you want to try and predict this year’s winners on your own, EA has opened the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs Bracket Challenge page so you can follow along in your game.
