Nintendo Celebrating Kirby’s Birthday on 3DS, Wii U eShop

Nintendo Celebrating Kirby’s Birthday on 3DS, Wii U eShop

The first of August marks a very special birthday for Kirby, who’s turning 24. While Kirby may not be as popular as some of Nintendo’s other mascots, the lovable pink ball has been there since the very beginning. Since the release of Kirby’s Dream Land in 1992, over 30 million Kirby games have been sold and enjoyed by fans all around the world. To celebrate, Nintendo is updating the eShop with Kirby games past and present.

Kirby’s Dream Course , a golf spin-off game that originally appeared on the SNES, is now available on the eShop for Wii U and New 3DS for $8. The DS game Kirby Mass Attack can be purchased on the Wii U eShop for $10. Kirby’s Epic Yarn is also available for a very fair $20. If you missed that game on the Wii, it’s definitely worth checking out. The cloth-and-crafts aesthetic from Epic Yarn was a big part of the visual inspiration for Yoshi’s Woolly World , and both games look fantastic. Finally, the incredible Kirby: Planet Robobot now has a demo on the 3DS eShop that you should download immediately; it’s been one of my favorite 3DS games of 2016.
