Nintendo Holding 3DS Badge Arcade Anniversary Sale

Nintendo Holding 3DS Badge Arcade Anniversary Sale

Nintendo Badge Arcade is an application wherein you can play virtual crane games to win decorative badges for your 3DS home screen. While it’s free to download and you can earn a free play every day, you have to pony up real cash to continue collecting badges. This week, Nintendo is celebrating the app’s first anniversary by discounting game plays by up to 50 percent. Normally, you’d have to pay $1 for every five plays.

If you log in today, November 10, you’ll be treated to two additional free plays, as well as two more on November 14. The sale runs until November 17 at 2:59 a.m., so you have a little over a week to check it out.

The company is also offering new My Nintendo rewards to celebrate Metroid , featured in the NES Classic Edition lineup. You’ll be able to use your coins to get discounts on Virtual Console games including Metroid: Zero Mission (Wii U), Metroid Prime: Trilogy (Wii U), and Super Metroid (Nintendo 3DS). A Samus Nintendo 3DS theme is also available for purchase with coins. Why is it that Nintendo always seems to offer discounts on the games I’ve already bought? Argh.
