Nintendo Mobile Games Will Be Created In-House

Nintendo Mobile Games Will Be Created In-House

Earlier today, TIME released a candid interview with Nintendo President Satoru Iwata in which he stated that all of their upcoming mobile games are going to be created in-house with the help of DeNA. He added that Nintendo has always been good at creating traditional gaming products, but DeNA has expertise in developing for mobile and they are capable of making great products together.

Nintendo initially made headlines yesterday when they announced this lucrative partnership with DeNA, but never really elaborated on the development process until now. While no release date or specifics have been set yet, Nintendo does plan to launch their first mobile game sometime later this year.

Nintendo’s foray into the world of mobile gaming is long overdue and I’m personally glad they that are finally taking the plunge. I’m not yet certain how this move will affect the 3DS if at all but surely the venture will pay dividends by the time all is said and done.

Are any of you planning on trying out Nintendo’s first mobile game? Please feel free to let us know in the comments section below.
