DeNA Lays Off Staff Members Across Various Offices

DeNA Lays Off Staff Members Across Various Offices

Last Friday, GamesBeat reported on a story confirming that Japanese mobile games publisher DeNA has currently laid off several staff members in both their Vancouver and San Francisco offices. The company stated that these moves were made as part of restructuring efforts and thanked all of the men and women that have contributed to its success today.

DeNA made headlines last month when it announced a partnership with Nintendo to create mobile games. Its most recent release, Final Fantasy: Record Keeper , has already been downloaded over 1 million times, and DeNA has confidence that this Nintendo partnership will be its most lucrative venture yet.

Layoffs are common in this industry and therefore this news isn’t shocking. Hopefully all of the people affected by these job losses are able to recover and find better opportunities sooner rather than later.

Do any of you think that these layoffs and this partnership will help or hurt DeNA in the long run? Please feel free to let us know your candid thoughts on the matter in the comments section below.
