Nintendo recently released sales data for the last fiscal year, and added several new Nintendo-developed titles to its million-seller club. Among them were Pokémon Black and White with 11 million sold worldwide, Donkey Kong Country Returns with nearly 5 million, and Kirby’s Epic Yarn with 1.5 million. However, what is really exciting for Nintendo is the appearance of the first 3DS million-seller.  Despite being released at the tail end of the fiscal year, 3DS launch title Nintendogs + Cats has become Nintendo’s first million-selling title on the 3DS platform. Of course, this comes as little surprise, as the original Nintendogs certainly shipped a lot of units in the DS’ early days. But still, Nintendogs + Cats’ extremely strong early sales numbers seem like a good indicator of the 3DS’ overall health in its early days. |
