Nintendo has been bombarding the public with news from their Japan press event, including the news that Sonic is a playable character in Super Smash Bros Brawl.  Nintendo has also revealed future plans for a new Wii Channel and upcoming plans for the Wii Ware Channel.

Perhaps in response to Sony’s intentions to expand the PSN to the PSP, Nintendo has confirmed plans to launch a Wii Channel, entitled DS Demo Channel, which will allow Wii owners to download DS demos through the Wii using Wi-fi.

Nintendo also gave an update on the status of the Wii Ware channel, which they earlier announced would begin offering original content.  Nintendo confirmed a list of titles which would be on the Wii Ware Channel, including titles such as Star Soldier R, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, and the first party title Dr. Mario & Saikin Bokumetsu.  Nintendo also announced Maruboushikaku and Minna de Puzzloop, which are two puzzle games along with Pokemon Bokujou Channel, which will allow gamers to manage their Pokemon from Diamond and Pearl in a ranch environment.

Satoru Iwata also confirmed that Nintendo currently had over 100 proposals for games on the service, from in house and third party developers.

No date or pricing details have been revealed yet, although Nintendo stated that the first of the titles should show up in early 2008.
