Overwatch hit a milestone, and it’s amazing. The game launched on May 24. It’s just over a week old. How many people would you think are playing in that time? I hope you guessed in the millions, because it’s passed seven million players on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Which isn’t surprising, since it passed nine million people during the beta.
Blizzard even has some figures going over hours, because seven million players means nothing unless you know they’re actually in-game. Over 119 million hours have been logged in Overwatch so far. Other figures include 326 hero swaps, where people change characters, and 11 million delivered payloads on missions.
Now, to make this even more crazy, this is all before the Competitive Play mode has been released. Can you imagine how this figure will rise when people start pitting themselves against one another in an attempt to be the best? Blizzard clearly did something right with Overwatch.
