Earlier this month, the Xbox One received a rather awesome update. In addition to other features, it let us play background music through third party apps. Eventually, the Microsoft Groove music streaming service allowed people to enjoy background music from another source. Now, another major provider has opted in. Pandora wants you to listen to their songs too!
The Pandora update was confirmed by Mike Ybarra, Xbox’s engineering lead, on Twitter . By the end of the day today, you should be able to choose background music from Pandora while you play games. You know, in case you don’t like the music that’s already playing in your Xbox One games.
Pandora is a free music streaming service, so you could always give it a try now that it’s available for Xbox One background streaming. There will be commercials unless you pay a subscription fee, so keep that in mind when deciding.
