PS4 ShareFactory Now Lets You Create GIFs

PS4 ShareFactory Now Lets You Create GIFs

Dedicated PS4 footage editors are familiar with the ShareFactory application, which allows you to tweak gameplay clips captured with the Share button before uploading them to a video-streaming service. With a recent update to the program, you can now trim up to nine seconds of footage and turn it into a looping GIF. This provides yet another tool for players to show off their biggest gaming accomplishments or revel in hilarious moments on social media.

The GIFs are optimized for Twitter and appear to output at 400×225 pixels. While cumbersome, you can also save GIFs to system memory and transfer them to a USB device for use on a computer. Hopefully another update down the line will make it a bit easier to export the files. I can only imagine how many memes this feature is going to spawn. If you’re keen to try your hand at becoming the next viral social media sensation, you can patch your ShareFactory app immediately and get GIF-ing immediately.

It’s pronounced with a hard “g,” by the way. Fight me.
