Diablo Immortal Summary
Diablo Immortal is Blizzard Entertainment’s mobile spin-off of the hugely successful Diablo franchise. The title retains much of the core DNA of previous Diablo titles but transforms it for free-to-play mobile gaming. Immortal was developed through a partnership between Blizzard and NetEase to create a Diablo title with touch controls. The title is a massively multiplayer online ARPG (MMOARPG) and uses a live-service seasonal model.
Since its release in 2022, the game has remained one of the more popular free-to-play mobile titles based on a AAA game. Unlike other titles in the Diablo series, players can change their class mid-game, allowing for more flexibility. Due to being a mobile game, the typical Diablo Immortal play session is 10-15 minutes in length.
Players can complete any of the game’s activities solo or can also seamlessly link up with others and even engage in PVP content. The game is criticized for its monetization model and tedious endgame grind. Particularly, the Battle Pass system has been accused of implementing a “pay-to-win” strategy.
Diablo Immortal Premise
Set between the events of Diablo II and Diablo III, Diablo Immortal puts players in the shoes of a hero back in the world of Sanctuary. The title begins in the town of Wortham but eventually takes players to Zoltun Kulle Library. Similar to other titles in the series, players have six different character classes to choose from. These classes include the Barbarian, Wizard, Monk, Necromancer, Demon Hunter, and Crusader. The player’s class choice affects their available skills, gear, and character progression.
Gameplay takes place from an isometric, top-down perspective. Players control their character by pushing on the touch screen of their mobile device, with skills and abilities having assigned virtual buttons. Players can also connect a Bluetooth-enabled gamepad to their mobile device for controller support. As is typical in the Diablo franchise, greater threats equate to greater rewards, with more powerful loot granting access to the game’s toughest segments.
As an MMOARPG, Diablo Immortal features daily events that can be completed to earn in-game resources used toward character progression. Additionally, there are campaign story missions that players can complete either solo or in co-op. After maxing out a character’s level, players enter the endgame and gain access to Paragon Boards that are unique for each class.

- Player Character: The player-created character is one of many heroes in the game. The character can be male or female and one of 6 available starting classes. It is the hero’s mission to stop Skarn and prevent Diablo’s resurrection.
- Deckard Cain: Deckard Cain is a recurring character across every Diablo title. He is Diablo‘s version of the mentor or wise old man archetype from the Hero’s Journey and provides assistance to the player. Within the Diablo lore, Cain is the last surviving member of the Horadrim — an ancient order tasked with repelling the Prime Evils.
- Adria: Adria is a witch in service of the Prime Evil Diablo. She appears as a middle-aged woman in other Diablo titles and is in search of the creator of the Black Soulstone —Zoltun Kulle.
- Maghda: Maghda is the leader of a coven of witches and close friend of Adria. She is one of the primary antagonists in Diablo III and a servant of Belial, one of the Lesser Evils.
- Skarn: Skarn is the primary antagonist of Diablo Immortal and one of Diablo’s most powerful lieutenants. he is the herald of Diablo as well as a lesser demon seeking to rise within the ranks of the Burning Hells.

Diablo Immortal Cheats and Secrets
Similar to other ARPGs and RPGs, Diablo Immortal sees players needing to grind to max out their character’s level. This process can be both time-consuming and tedious, leading to players searching for cheats and/or exploits to alleviate it. While using exploits that are naturally ocurring as part of the game’s code comes with no risks, using cheats does. As a persistently-online mobile title with many progression aids locked behind a paywall, cheating in Diablo Immortal is not supported and can lead to a permanent ban if caught. Blizzard and NetEase have notoriously adept anti-cheat scans and software. As a result, it is not advised to attempt cheating.
Still, there are exploits available to players that are built-in to the gameplay of Diablo Immortal. Some players have noted that the exploit triggers at random, but once active players can steamroll through enemy mobs. To cancel the invincibility/invisibility effect, simply teleport or fast travel.
AFK XP Farming Exploit
AFK (“away from keyboard”) exploits are popular in MMORPGs for the ways that they streamline the grinding process without human input. Diablo Immortal has a notorious AFK XP farm that involves using, surprisingly, a spoon. Because this particular XP farm relies on spamming the attack button, using a metal spoon on the mobile device’s screen can accomplish this without the player needing to.
In the Zoltun Kulle Library, head to the Hidden Alcove area of the map. The enemies here are plentiful and continually respawn, making this AFK exploit a convenient way to earn a plethora of XP. Simply stand in this zone (you’ll likely see other players congregating there) and spam the attack button. While the animations for multiple attacks are stacked, place the convex (curved outward) end of the spoon on your screen. The spoon will do its job and continue spamming the attack button, netting you loads of XP.

There’s no cheat or exploit for unlimited platinum, but players can take advantage of the in-game systems to stack the currency. The first way to earn platinum is through completing daily activities. Alternately, players can sell unwanted equipment for extra platinum.
