PlayStation Network Getting An Indie Category

PlayStation Network Getting An Indie Category

Sony has made a point to assert the importance of indie developers to the PS4’s development, and it looks like they’ll be applying the same philosophy to the PS3 starting today. Alongside dozens of genres, PlayStation users will now see a quaint little indie category, designed to promote “some of the most unique gaming experiences” that the PSN has to offer.

At the forefront of the store’s launch will be some of the more well-known indie games, namely Guacamelee, Journey, Thomas Was Alone, and The Unfinished Swan. To further emphasize the indie corner, Sony has cut prices on a select few indie titles, and will continue to do so on a weekly basis.

Today’s deals are on Retro City Rampage which is 50% off, Papo & Yo’s promo bundle which got a 40% price slash, and Zombie Tycoon II which has been added to the list of free games that PlayStation Plus subscribers have access to.
