Pokemon Go Gets Update, Double XP Event

Pokemon Go Gets Update, Double XP Event

For those of you not totally sucked into Pokemon Sun & Moon , you’ll be happy to know that Niantic is running a limited-time double XP event for Pokemon Go. From November 23 at 00:00 UTC through November 30 00:00 UTC, you’ll receive twice the amount of XP and Stardust for all actions taken within the game. The reason? Niantic wants to say thank you to the fans who have stuck with them since the game’s launch this summer.

A small update has also arrived for Pokemon Go , although it doesn’t add much worth discussing. The patch brings the game to version 1.17.0 on iOS and 0.47.1 on Android, fixing an egg-hatching animation issue and some erroneous text. That’s… everything, actually. More substantial updates, like player-to-player trading, are still in the works.

Much like with the Halloween event, the double XP campaign is a good reason to jump back into the game and make some progress on your trainer level if you’ve been away for a while. I don’t see how anything could tear me away from Pokemon Sun at this point, but I appreciate the effort.
