Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire Sell 3 Million Copies

Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire Sell 3 Million Copies

Everyone is saying that Smash Bros. for the Wii U is Nintendo’s big runaway hit. However, it’s success is absolutely dwarfed by Pokémon . Recently, the latest Pokémon releases, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire sold more than three million copies worldwide in only three days, November 21 st through 23 rd . Smash sold only 500,000 in the exact same three days, and it is the fastest selling Wii U game in the console’s history, and Pokémon is still selling six times better than it.

1.5 million copies were sold in Japan alone, with the other half coming from other combined territories, primarily the U.S. It’s also worth noting that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire have not be released in Europe, which means the sales of these games is going to grow even higher.

So maybe that’s how Nintendo will “save” the Wii U, release a traditional Pokémon game for it. Or perhaps the Wii U simply won’t sell as well as the 3DS in terms of games because not enough people have the console.
