The numbers keep going up for Nintendo and the Pokémon franchise. Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby are selling like hotcakes. It was recently reported that the recent Pokémon remake has shipped over 7.7 million units worldwide. That is almost 20 times the last reported value for Smash Bros. on the Wii U. Not only that, but it’s a 35% increase over the same time period compared to Pokémon X and Y .
Of course, this total still pales in comparison to the 16.22 million copies that the original Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire sold.
The big question now is, what Pokémon game will be remade next?
