Project Needlemouse is Sonic the Hedgehog 4

None

SEGA revealed via an interview with GameSpot and the launch of a brand new website that the project formerly known as Needlemouse is actually Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1. The game will release for Xbox 360, PS3, and Wii and is a direct continuation of the classic, 2-D Sonic titles from the 90s.

You may have noticed that the game carries the Episode 1 subtitle. That’s because it will be released via each system’s digital download service. Release dates, pricing, and the amount of episodes the game has been broken up into are still unknown.

However, some details have been fleshed out. It was confirmed that this revamped 2-D Sonic title will have remastered, classic music themes, was created with a 3-D engine despite the 2-D gameplay, will look brilliant on Xbox 360 and PS3 in full 1080p HD, and include motion control support for Wii.

The first installment will launch Summer 2010. Checkout the trailer below!
