Disney Interactive has shut down Propaganda Games. An official statement reads, “Disney Interactive Studios confirms the closure of its Vancouver-based internal game development studio, Propaganda Games. The studio has completed all work associated with its most recent project.” This “most recent project,” Tron: Legacy, received underwhelming sales and reviews.  There were plenty of warning signs that this company was on the brink. In early 2009, the layoffs began. In October of 2010, Pirates of the Caribbean: Armada of the Damned was scrapped, resulting in more layoffs. While a lot of us saw this coming, losing another video game studio is always a sad event. |
