Prototype 2 Gets A Release Date

None

The follow-up to 2009’s open world antihero game has finally been given a release date. Now gamers can look forward to causing all sorts of bloody bedlam when Prototype 2 infects store shelves on April 24 of next year.

Prototype 2 puts you in the shoes of James Heller, who has similar powers to Alex Mercer from the original game, with a few new additions. There’s also the exciting new addition of tendrils, which can be used to reach out and grab items, people, or vehicles in the environment. And if you’re feeling extra violent, you can take two things and smash them together. The tendrils can also be used to create what can only be described as pulsating webs, letting you string up enemies so they’re easier to take out.

Heller will need all these abilities and more if he’s to take out Alex Mercer, because those who played the original have first-hand knowledge of just how deadly that man is.

Another change you can expect in Prototype 2 is that you’ll now be able to choose your missions instead of having them forced upon you. Instead of taking missions from a person, Heller can hack into Blacknet and choose what needs to be done from there. This adds an extra level of strategy, as you’ll now have to choose which objectives should take priority over others.
