According to Sterne Agee industry analyst, Arvind Bhatia, executives at GameStop expect steep price cuts for both the Wii and PS3 before the end of 2009. Due to slumping sales, poor attach rates, and industry pressure (most recently voiced by Activision honcho Bobby Kotick), the PS3 may see a price tag drop of up to $100 by August. This bluster runs in stark contrast to statements made from both Sony and Nintendo executives just weeks ago. As such, consider this price cut talk to be less than reliable. |
