In an interview with top Nintendo executives, Wired has has announced that Nintendo will release the Nintendo Channel alongside the launch of the WiiWare gaming-on-demand service. This new channel will act as an informational portal for Wii owners. The channel launched in Japan back in November and has a lot of very useful content included. Features such as developer interviews, streaming video, upcoming titles and their release dates, DS title demos, and even user-generated game reviews. The DS demos are sent directly from your Wii to your DS much like the download centers in airports or your favorite game store. The user reviews are important because there will be no way to demo games before you try them. The reviews will then serve as guide to help consumers with WiiWare purchases. Gamers become eligible to submit a review if they have logged at least one hour of game time. Look for both WiiWare and the Nintendo Channel to launch on May 12, 2008.
