Renegade Ops PC Release Date In Flux

Renegade Ops PC Release Date In Flux

None

Renegade Ops was one of those little downloadable titles that sprung out of nowhere and demanded attention. Relentlessly action-packed and gifted with co-op gameplay, it’s a tempting treat for any gamer with a hankering for destruction and a couple of friends with similar appetites. When it was announced that the Steam release would come with the Half Life 2: Episode Two buggy/charger, complete with antlion special attack, I was sold. I pre-ordered a four-pack immediately, despite the PC version’s nebulous “September” release, and gifted copies to my friends.

The first solid release date we received, however, was October 14. Then, mere days before the game was due, it shifted to October 19. Is a five day delay so bad? The gaming public waited patiently, but on the scheduled date, the option to download Renegade Ops never appeared. In an eleventh hour delay, Sega announced on their Twitter that the game was being held back for “optimization.” Over the next couple of days, the Steam store listed such dates as October 23, “November” and, finally, seems to have settled on October 26.

Will the game unlock in time for Halloween, as promised? I’m no longer comfortable saying yes.
