Resident Evil 6 Gets October Release Date

Resident Evil 6 Gets October Release Date

None

Capcom’s yearly press event, Captivate, is going on right now, and tons of new info is leaking out of it. Yesterday, a new Resident Evil 6 trailer was posted to Sony’s Italian YouTube account. Speculation has it that this is some sort of early Captivate trailer, as it was quickly pulled from YouTube after its original upload. The trailer shows off many more story details, including the introduction of a new virus strain called the C-Virus which, once again, starts by turning people into zombies and finishes by transforming them into horrible mutant beasts. It also reveals that our formerly nameless third protagonist, Jake Muller, is actually Albert Wesker’s son!

However, the most interesting part of the new trailer is the release date shown at the end of it. Last we heard, Resident Evil 6 was coming out in November, but according to Kotaku and NeoGAF, the trailer pegged the game for an October 2 release. This seems especially likely since the newly unveiled, $1000+ premium edition of the game, which comes with Leon’s leather jacket and is currently exclusive to Japan, is slated to come out October 4.
