Resident Evil VII Won’t Scare You Away with Microtransactions

Resident Evil VII Won’t Scare You Away with Microtransactions

Microtransactions are a turn-off. You hear a game has one, and you suddenly wonder if other players will have an edge or there will be some overwhelming difficulty curve. Fortunately for Resident Evil VII fans, Capcom says it won’t have any microtransactions in the game.

There’s a reason why Capcom made that sort of reassurance. It revealed the pre-order incentives for the games. They’re all Survival Pack add-ons, giving people Burner Sets, Chem Fluid Sets, Handgun Sets, Recovery Sets, and Shotgun Sets that provide recovery items, things to help your guns, and ammunition. Since each one seems like the sort of thing you’d buy via microtransactions, it wanted to confirm that Resident Evil VII has none.

Which is a good thing. Resident Evil VII is the sort of game that doesn’t need microtransactions. It’s nice to see Capcom isn’t shoehorning them into this adventure.
