Richard Garfield Working On Digital Card Game

Richard Garfield Working On Digital Card Game

None

Richard Garfield is the man behind the most popular card game of all time, Magic: The Gathering. Of course, then Wizards picked it up and now Mark Rosewater is in charge, but Richard Garfield started it all. That is why we are so excited that he will be working on another card game, this time in digital space.

The game, Card Hunter, is being developed by indie studio Blue Manchu. The studio is headed by Jon Chey, co-founder of Irrational Games, and notorious for his work on BioShock and Freedom Force. The game itself will be free-to-play (most likely with micro-transactions included for all the obsessive card buying you will be doing) and will be releasing on the PC later this year.

Unfortunately, no further details about the game have been released, but we do know some of the other people that will be working on it. Dorian Hart, formerly of Looking Glass, and Ben Lee, formerly from Irrational are also joining the development team. Indie game designer Farbs will be on the team as well.
