Laid Off BioShock Infinite Staff Offered Home at Fire Hose

Laid Off BioShock Infinite Staff Offered Home at Fire Hose

So Irrational Games is closing, even though it’s produced fantastic games. What a sad world we live in. There’s something to be said about going out on top, but the great men and women who helped to create the BioShock franchise probably take that as cold comfort considering, you know, they don’t have jobs anymore.

Luckily, another studio is stepping in to make things right. Fire Hose Games, a Bost based developer that helped to develop games such as Rock Band Blitz , Dance Central , and Ms. Splosion Man , is going to help. They are setting up a brand new indie seed fund to help support indie teams and developers, and while they are not ready to start taking applications yet, they welcome all the laid off developers from Irrational Games to apply.

“We can’t sit by and watch all this potential development talent evaporate, especially considering our mission to help other indie devs. So we’re going to do what we can to help!” Fire hose said on their site. “I hope the silver lining of these layoffs are that we get more great indie games out of Boston!”

So if you are a game developer that has recently been laid off, or someone who just wants to try their hand on game development, you can always mail your application to Fire Hose Games directly.
