Rollercoaster Tycoon World

Rollercoaster Tycoon World

Three developers later, Rollercoaster Tycoon World is looking like it might finally open its doors to the world. The first major entry in the series since 2004, the simulation that will let you build theme parks and design roller coasters will be released on December 10, 2015. Surprisingly enough, it’s going to launch at the premium price points of $49.99 for a standard edition and $59.99 for a deluxe edition.

This entry offers tools new to the series. In particular, there is a 3D track editor that allows you to manipulate the shape and design of the track. It also offers freeform object placement, so every item can go anywhere. Curved paths are available as well. The result will be a park that will hopefully look however you want it to.

Rollercoaster Tycoon World has had a troubled development cycle. Since it was announced in 2014, Pipeworks Software, Area 52, and Nvizzo Creations have all had something to do with the game. Let’s hope the constant changing of the guard won’t be evident in the final project. Maybe be cautious and wait until after reviews come in before grabbing this one.
