RUMOR: Next Xbox Retails For $500

Following Microsoft’s recent invite to their “New Generation Reveal”, Paul Thurrot, an active Windows blogger, followed the announcement with unconfirmed details about the coming system.

Although the PS4 has been estimated at $450, Thurrot claims that the Xbox 720 will hit shelves in November and cost $500. There will also be a $300 720 available, but will require the user to purchase two years of Xbox Live Gold, which adds up to $540 in the long run.

Nothing new was revealed about the system’s launch lineup, which supports the belief that we won’t be hearing about actual games at the Washington expose. Regardless, E3 is just around the corner and sure to reveal more beyond the “confirmed” Ryse and Forza.

Thurrott has also brought the always-online rumors back from the depths, claiming that it will be a feature of the 720, but that it “isn’t as Draconian as many seem to believe.”
