Rumor: Sony Patent Shows New Vita, Possible 4G Capabilities?

The PlayStation Vita is a wonderful little piece of hardware that is unfortunately struggling in the current market. Low software support, a weak launch line-up, and a high price have overshadowed the Vita’s otherwise spectacular technical capabilities. Now, it appears as if Sony will be attempting to rectify the situation by giving the Vita even more technical capabilities. Sony has recently filed a patent showing off a new Vita design. The new Vita appears to have both a mini-USB port, and an HDMI port.

According to GamerXChange, the new Vita model will come with 4G capabilities. The new 4G model will replace the 3G model, and will cost $299. A significant firmware update will drop when the 4G model releases, which will integrate new features and apps as well as a new way to organize your software. Supposedly, the model will be announced at the February 20 th Sony event, but will hot hit the market until later this year. In addition, a price cut on all memory cards will be made but details of the price cut were not available.
